I will admit I am totally unfamiliar with the funky (to me) torsion bar set up that the Imperial/J-body has. Worked on many B-bodies and done my fair share of cutting front springs and/or installing lowering spring.
How does someone lower the J-body design (if it's possible)?
I don't want anything drastic. Just an inch or so.

TIA

Just make sure you soak the adjusters with oil before you start cranking especially if there is some rust you dont want to gaul the threads .and unload the suspension. After that you will have spent more time jacking up the car . Its really easy . Good luck

If you car sits level now then I would crank them down equal amounts. The right adjuster does the left side and the left adjuster does the right. Unload suspension first as stated. One thing I found is it may take some jouncing of the car or even a short drive to get it to settle all the way.
