Hey there guys ..new to the site and looking forward to learning what i dont know and sharing what I do !

My name is Devon..im 37 years old, with a fiance and a daughter and I am a red sealed automotive collision repair technician-began as a lil guy with my father who was a restoration show car body and paint tech

Been in love with mopar since I was a child, my father owned a 73 dart sport with a 383 with lots of goodies and a 1970 coronet R/T 440 built very mean with the hemi 4 gear

Ive recently acquired my first mopar ..it is no coronet R/T but a guy has to stsrt somewhere,no?

I got a late 1979 Aspen R/T
LA360 bored 30 over
Holley 3310-6 750 vac sec
Weiand action + intake
Keith black kb107 pistons
Hasting moly rings
Comp cams xe268 cam
Long tube headers
Iron heads with 1.88 elgin valve, howard springs and a clean up

This boxing day sale however I am buying a set of the performance world 63171A-2 aluminum heads with 179 cc runners 2.02 valves with a 63 cc combustion chamber

Just got a transmission built for it
A518(46rh) with some billet parts such as clutch drum and a handful of other parts im spacing out on ..some extra clutches and overdrive improvements a pimped out shift kit and a lock up converter

Rear end is a posi ford 8.8 held in by a couple of the mopar performance super stock springs that I fabbed new hanger brackets and mounts for ....

Welcome to the site and I hope your project continues to go well. Us Aspen guys need to stick together as you're absolutely right about starting somewhere. Here's my current project and reading your details it appears we have very similar ideas !!

Welcome again , and thanks for the compliments. I guess not too bad for a 69 year old retired Auto Technician !! At least that's my wife's thoughts !

Actually it's a 360 LA. Mostly E-Bay and Summit parts trying to budget reasonably. My days of $1000.00 a tenth super stock racing are long ago behind me. The highlights include a 0.040" over bore , eagle rods , 295* Comp Cams solid , and bolt on dress up you can see in the photos. The rear axle is an 8 3/4 sure grip with a 3.58 gear. 727 torque flight with a 2800 stall convertor makes the American Racing solid alloys keep turning ; hopefully !

Welcome to the site Devon, that 360 build sounds sweet and you're right about starting somewhere - those Aspens can be real sleepers when done right!
