Okay, laying in the trunk of my 87 Fifth Avenue prepping the underside of the rear window support for welding tomorrow.

I found this item laying over on the side.
Does it belong to my car? What is it? Where does it go?

I was going to say front fender brace at first but they aren't round, they're more v-shaped and the ends aren't on the same plane. I'm going off f-body and assume an M is probably the same so don't quote me on that.

Here's a couple pics of the ones on my Aspen. Probably better than my description is, lol.

Very exciting.
In fact, the battery is just floating so I must be missing the vertical hook to use this round brace.

Thanks to everyone for the pictures.
I did check my fenders and found the flat brace (a la Aspen500); however, there is only one on the right side and none on the left.

You should have a brace on both sides. Keeps the lower fender steady and keeps it from getting stress cracks. When I bought my car, the left one was missing for whatever reason and there was a stress crack from the wheel lip going part way towards the front bumper.
