How do you ID a squad car steering box?

I went to a swap meet and a guy has a bunch of parts from an 83 (he says) diplomat squad car. Did they use the police car wheels that early? He has everything in the pics except for the wheels when I left. How do you tell if it is a regualar box or quick ratio by sight?. The other parts are clearly police car with obvious sway bars.The 8 1/4 is a posi too

Did you buy the sway bars? If not how much was he asking for both sets?

Hi,

I'm pretty sure the police Diplomats had the 11.5/11.75" disk brakes and 11" rear drum brakes. The posi rear end is also a reliable indicator.

I thought the police cars would have the 11.75 front discs but they don't.
They are the same size as all the M-Bodies.
The rear brakes are 11"
You need to find the caliper brackets off of a 76 0r so Big Block or 360 Cordoba,
79-80 st.regis, newport, Gran Fury those type of cars. The Cop cars didnt even have the thicker
11/16 tie rod ends. they only have the 9/16 ones like all Ms do.
I know this because I have 2 AHB Police cars.
I bought them thinking they had all the best HD stuff to put under my M-Coupes.
The front sway bar is bigger then the others.
