Hi,
Is the A518/46RH transmission used on 4WD Pickups/Grand Cherokees usable with our cars? I know about having to modify the crossmember, transmission tunnel, a controller, and a shortened drive shaft, but I would like to know if the 2WD A518/46RH is the same as the one from a 4WD vehicle, or have there been changes made to the 4WD transmission to accommodate the transfer case that would make it unusable on a 2WD vehicle. The idea, of course is to be able to use a lower rear end gear, while having a usable rear end gear ratio for highway use. I am going to assume that the A518/46RH physically bolts up to the LA series small block, basically being a small block A727 with a 4th (overdrive) gear.
