Hey I'm new here and I hope some of you guys can help me out with some stuff for this '80 Mirada w/slant six. I need a new or an Idea on how to fix a driver door window regulator. The gear teeth are stripped out. Lets start there cuz I need to roll down the window then Ill work on everything else. HA Thanks.

Welcome to the show. Is that power or manual window, or is it the same regulator?

It is a manual. And it is for sure stripped. I took the panel off and the teeth are missing. Also the handle and its teeth are fine.

So you have teeth on the handle but the teeth on the plate it connects to is stripped?

Correct. Some of the teeth on the cam looking part in the picture are gone. I have some at the beginning and some at the end but none in the middle. If they would have engineered it right they would have made the handle gear out of something softer because if it stripped it would have been easier and cheaper to replace. But here we are.

I appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and quick responses.

Is there a part number stamped on that plate?
Might make it easier to track one down.
Getting the whole shebang might be the easiest.

One showing on carpart.com in Indiana.

Hey cap, I'm going to take it apart again today and look for that part number. In the mean time can you send me that link so I can follow up with that part you found. Thanks

It won't let me copy the actual link.
But go to www.carpart.com
You'll see the opening page....
Punch in year, car, part and location and it'll come up.
I think I went to door, then regulator.
