Gunnar, what you are talking about comes as a subscription now. IT is also included in estimate writing software too. Parts stores have it, but over here not a lot of the people that work the counter know how to use everything in their systems or even want to try. They are not into the deeper realms of it. They just surf the "make model year" stuff and do the same routine over and over. It's more like fast food in America. They no longer consider it a career or anything. Used to be parts guy were respectable.
A couple of years ago a garage refused to change the oil in The Cherry Bomb claiming they don't make oil filters that old and I not only couldn't convince them it's the exact same oil filter used in '90s to early '00s Rams and Dakotas, I couldn't even convince them that the 318 is basically same engine as the 5.2 with less sensors and computer systems
