New addition to my parts collection for my 78. Can anyone tell me what is the right color/finish is for these wheels.Mine are pretty rough and need to be blasted and refinished.

After pressure washing off the protective layer of dirt and brake dust I see these wheels are a little rustier than I thought. Guess I`ll be spending some quality time in the garage with the sand blaster. Not really a bad thing because it will help justify to the wife as to why I bought it and then had to get a bigger compressor to run it.

Make sure you use a good etching primer and a good wheel paint for your base coat. I have seen guys use basic automotive paint and had pits from brake dust in a short time

Thanks for the advice. For the amount of time and effort it`s going to take to refinish these I`d like to only do them once. Any specific primer that you recommend that you know holds up well.

I think I used VHT on the last wheel I did, but I have had the best luck using Eastwood or Dupli-color for shaker can products, and BASF and PPG/Ditzler for spray gun. Depending on top coat, having an epoxy base coat can solve compatible issues.
