swirl port heads

Can anyone tell me about the swirl port heads from 1987 thru 1991? What engines can I find them on...318 2 or 4 bbl., 360 2 or 4bbl ?etc. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Pull some valve covers . If the casting number ends in 302 on the 318s then it's a swirl head . If it ends with 308 on the 360s , ditto .

OK thanks, but my main question is, do I bother to look at 318-2bbl engines or were the 302 heads only available on 318-4bbl engines? And the same with 308 heads, were they only found on 4-bbl 360's? Thanks again.

I'd seen them both ways , 2&4 bbl motors .

I think the 302 heads are only on the 2bbl engines. You'll get a nice little bump in compression, but the valves are the same size so breathing will not improve.

I found mine in a 85 Dodge Diplomat 318 2 bbl. roller cam engine.
I posted these photos before when found.

Found on 250 Dodge Vans

I found both my 308 heads on two 1990 250 Dodge vans, 360, throttle body injection. Also, the numbers were on the bottom, so.....I didn't know until I cut everything away and pulled the first. It's like the lottery!!! If you just want to buy a set, PM me. We might be able to work something out. Happy Hunting!! Wayne
