This broke and the transmission won't stay in gear, I've been to every auto parts store in Dayton, nobody has it or has even heard of it, where can I find a replacement or what can be modified to make it work? IMG_20241015_153656719.jpg

Kind of interesting how my '85 manual show grommets everywhere but the '88 book shows those weirdly shaped cotter pin things (7) which is exactly what The Cherry Bomb has, I guess they changed them sometime after the '85 book was printed and The Cherry Bomb was made (Nov. '84)

I think the shop manuals reuse drawings from earlier years and the parts catalog) are slightly more accurate, but not always. I mean, some poor bastard had to draw all that shit by hand. I'm not surprised that drawings were reused or are slightly inaccurate

Edit: I checked 83 (I don't have a parts catalog for 84) and it's the same part number for #11

Need to use the illustrations for part location and reference number, to find the correct p/n only. They don't necessarily look like the actual part. Same deal still continues to this day.
