Hi everyone. I'm looking for any NOS or certain used parts for a 1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. My current pressing need is a driver's seat (manual), left side (outside) seat latch mechanism. NOS part # 4290731 but willing to take used in excellent shape. I know this forum is mostly geared towards FMJ bodies but thought I'd take a shot and try my luck here. Thanks!

It says E Class but in the link it says it fits 5 vehicle variants. Chrysler: 3 models, 5 variants for 1984. The part # matches and the illustration they show looks right. I'll give them a call and see what they say. I never heard of this place before. Thanks a lot for the link!

I'm really hoping also, on top of the fact that they're showing a number of other NOS parts in their inventory that I haven't seen anywhere else. Seems almost to good to be true. Really hope it isn't, but due to the Monday holiday, I'll certainly be calling them first thing on Tuesday. Was curious where you found out about them?

He probably just googled the part number. Looks like you've looked all over on many different forums. Car-part.com shows tons of seats for 84-93 Daytonas, including several in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Have you tried any of those junkyards?

I've used Car-part.com before and just recently and there was no match for any seats in my state for a 84' Dodge Daytona. So I'm not sure how a lot are showing up for you. Unfortunately many of the yards I went to years ago are long gone and most nowadays will not have anything for any 80's cars in general none less a 84'. The are a number of things unique to the 84' Daytona which they changed after just that year. The seat latch mechanism was one of them so it has to be from an 84' G-body, Daytona or Laser. I'm hoping the link Aspen500 provided turns out positive.

I have my doubts they actually have the part also, but unless a person checks, you never know. I ran the p/n on Parts Voice, too, and it found nothing, so............

I've run into that before where a place shows the part, along with the price, and then it turned out they don't really have it. Brad's NOS, I'm talking to you.

Year specific with Chrysler isn't as accurate as it seems. Lots of stuff will work good enough across decades. Have you thought of just bolting your seats up with a later mechanism?

And if it truly must be 84

I've already been in contact with ARichner's. Long story short, he basically is so short of help pulling parts he didn't think it would be economically worth his while to go through the jungle he'd have to go through to get to the car. I texted him a few times but he's never gotten back to me.
It has to be an 84' and specific to just the G body cars. That one at Brad's does look very close but as you mentioned about the spring, plus I did actually locate the inside latch NOS previously on Ebay so matching it up on the backside there are some small differences. I have to have a trim shop do this as the top part of the latch goes under the seat fabric, and the last thing I'd want would be to get it, have it put in then realize it doesn't either fully fit or work correctly. Having the correct one would give me piece of mind.

Long story short, struck gold with the link Aspen500 sent me. Never had heard of this site before but contacted a woman there, gave her the part # and and she gave me the Phone # for a dealership that it was showing up at. Parts guy there said it was showing in an older location so he wasn't even sure if they actually had the part but amazingly they did. :D Shipped it out and received it last week.
Couldn't be happy enough. Now plans this week to finally get the latches replaced at the upholstery shop. Thanks for everyone's help. Especially Aspen500, can't thank you enough and really appreciate the link. I thought I was never going to find this part, least of all NOS!
