Alrright we'll give it a shot.

Not worried so much about that shaft sucking air as much as the gas leaking out of it...LOL....BOOOOM!

So its a must to replace the carb to manifold gasket EVERY time the carb comes off and back on I suppose....

Making your own gaskets is not difficult. A pair of moustache shears can be very helpful...

Your kit should have it in it.

It does, but we had switched to the better thicker ones...cant recall the manufacturer.....in an attempt to keep heat soak to a minimum.....

***Edit --- its the felpro composite gasket....it has spacers for the bolts and is thick.

Well, the son did the rebuild and so far so good.

Very proud...this was his very first carb rebuild...and he did it 99.999% on his own......
