I can relate to what Sam is saying (but in the opposite direction).
Personally, I prefer to shift and one of my plans is to convert my wagon to a manual. I even considered talking to Sam about a possible trade – but OH is a too much of a drive from OK, so that idea fell to the wayside.

My wife can drive a stick, but prefers not to.

Sam, the clutch/brake petal setup, as well as the linkage from frame rail to transmission is worth saving. The linkage is a /6 (FMJ) item only.

Ohio to Oklahoma would be a great road trip. You guys should make a trade rather than Sam removing the 4 speed.

Hey Sam, just thinking, have you given any thought to a diaphragm clutch?
Mine is pretty easy to operate.
And you can make them even easier by modifying the pedal ratio.
If you have an overdrive, you can install just about any rear gear you want; but I gotta tell ya, 4.88s with a 3.09 low, is a lil over the top, lol.
I luv yur car. It would make a great home for my 360HO, but the buy-in is way beyond my means.

Yakno, I got an older gentleman friend up here; who is 81. With a 13 year age spread, I never ever thought we'd hit it off. But after his wife died, I saw how alone he was, and began a relationship, that is now going on three years. He is not a car guy, and not a Christian nor a Believer like me. But he is a wealth of knowledge, having been in this community where I live, for all his life. His sense of humor is often a lil too colorful for me, but I don't harp on it. We even go out to lunch about once a week or so, as covid allows. We have great fun.
I hope you have a friend like that, just in reverse, you being the elder.

Still looking, folks...I've seen some good prospects, but with the luxury of time, I'm looking for a great prospect. Whatchya got? Broadening the search to A/B/C bodies, though I know those will get me less car for more money...
Also a Studebaker/AMC fan to a lesser extent than Mopar.

Heck, if you have show-quality #1, I'd go over the five-figure mark for that!

I hope that doesn't sound snooty. I'm no rich guy. But I save my pennies, and I really need to, since I have no gear head skills. Just a good ol' fashioned RN.
I'm in the process of buying a 5 figure Lebaron. Low 5 figure, but an 18,000 survivor Medallion, Loaded. Value, as beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder. This will likely be my last Mopar collector car. Yeah, it's worth it!

Not quite certain of this, but I believe we may all be into our last collector cars. I'd reckon the Green movement will end ICE vehicles' legality within a decade.

I don't see that timeframe being met. Even if you had competing interests walking in lockstep today there is simply too much to overcome in terms of raw material production to support that many batteries and overhauls to the electrical grid to handle the load in that short of time. I wouldn't dismiss car ownership forced into becoming more of a luxury though and people being tossed into mass transit.

They could actually end up driving the cost of oil down enough to where owning and driving older cars will cost less. It will take a long time to just get 10% of the population into Samsung powered cars, but that will really have an effect on oil prices. These buffoons may help us in the long run

And just wait until the environmentalists catch on to what cobalt and lithium mining does to the earth. That along with the fact that much of the electricity to charge those puppies is derived from fossil fuels assures me that our beloved internal combustion engines will be around for a very long time!

We still have to burn a bunch of coal and oil to power the grid and recharge all of these Barbie toys too. My screen name is Element 115. That's what I work with. They have high hopes for that, unfortunately not for the reasons we would want

I don't have anything against EVs, only the way they are being pushed. They conveniently ignore the power generation side of them, the environmental impact mining the battery materials, the pollution from making and recycling the batteries and other electrical parts of them. Then call them zero emissions.

I like them a lot. There will be a lot of good come from them, like it or not. This whole nonsense about it happening overnight and taxing people to death so they can offer 3 or 5 trillion in grants and incentives is socialism, and I didn't sign up for that.

Hey Duke5A, I think you were talking about this one... She had been in storage for a few years while I played with another car. I brought her home last summer, cleaned the carb fixed a vacuum leak and enjoy her on the odd occasion. About to stick her back into storage for another nap.

Hey! How you been??

Yeah, that would be the car.

Sounds like @MartyB is interested if you still wanted to sell it.
