82 Gran Fury. Not sure if these are aftermarket or some old bells and whistles. The switch does nothing I can detect, nor does the wire (no idea what it is but it was originally sticking out the side of the radio panel). Finally there is this speaker mounted by the engine. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I've seen old alarm systems with speakers like that....or maybe they liked to cruise around with a Mr Microphone...

I wonder (which is always scary) if the microphone was from a hand free phone set up? Or, as mentioned, big brother spying on you. With the current socialist administration, it wouldn't surprise me  Don't get me started!

Okay awesome. So the switch was to activate/deactivate? Additionally, that wire looks like a mic or antenna, any idea?
Yah the switch is for the alarm, I took several out for used car dealers years ago...I have no idea about the mic

Thanks everyone for the feedback and ideas. Yes it was for an old alarm system (Viper C60) which I promptly removed. The antenna/mic thing was actually a part of a glass break sensor (Clifford Intellisensor 3D) which came out with the alarm system. Re-spliced ignition wire back together and we're up and running again.

Kind of makes you wonder what type of place the car lived, where they were so worried about theft.
From what I understand it was an older woman who lived in rural Ohio. My thought is she met a "good" salesman...

She could have had it broken into or stolen at one point, or a car she had before it. We have a relative in a small town that got an alarm for that reason in a minivan.
