Hello there!
I'm Matt and live in Arizona. I'm new to the FMJ world but have been in the Mopar world since the late 90's. I began with the turbo 4cyl Dodges and had a 450HP 1991 Dodge Spirit R/T.
I moved into the LX world in 2007 with a 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8 which evolved into what is known as Project A-BOM where I built the first (to my knowledge) street legal (emissions passed in AZ) 6-71 roots blown Gen3 Hemi.
That project will now be retired and it's heart will carry on in a newly acquired 1988 Plymouth Gran Fury. This was a previous police car in the City of Mesa, AZ.
I have lots of plans to do ridiculous things to this car. It's gonna be fun.

I've learned a lot over the years and will try to add my unique knowledge to the community where I can.
I'm looking forward to interacting with all of you.
Cheers!

Matt

I suppose It would be rude if I didn't post pics of the M-body soon to be thoroughly molested with fancy parts and a sawzall.

I'm guessing jasperjacko's remark was really in anticipation of the sort of butchery we occasionally spot here and there.

Widening the fenders is one approach, but why not back-half it and really beef up the suspension with some nice parts that will provide for additional suspension tuning as well?

My '81 coupe is literally waiting for that effort to start => Pro-Street look of days gone-by!

Although I'm a fan of the Pro-Street look, having grown up in the 80's & 90's, I'm going to be a little more subtle with this one at first.
While I'll probably move towards a ladder bar style suspension with coil overs to get away from the leaf springs, I'm going to try to only show a subtle change in the appearance of the rear tire/wheel combo.
Just getting rid of the leafs and opening up the wheel wells to the frame rail, I should be able to fit 12-13" of tire width in there. That'll be great for a fat street tire and plenty for a dedicated drag tire when needed. Just widening an OEM style steel wheel should give a little deeper of a dish without ruining the stock look.

Originally from the Midwest, I'm still dumbstruck anytime I see a Suburban with it's rocker panels intact. I fully appreciate how solid this thing is.
That's why I won't cut this one up more than necessary. A little TLC and this should clean up nicely.

Reinforce the k-frame and lower control arms while you’re at it. They make some nice tubular upper control arms for these that really help things out.
Look forward to your build.
