This car had been sitting for 10-12years. It is "real" factory 360 car, t top, console auto with bucket seats. Back in the 90's the drivetrain was updated to a 440 with A518 4spd OD automatic transmission. The odometer only shows 5 digits, so I am sure it has rolled over once, and i believe it actually has 102,860 km's on it, not sure how many on big block drivetrain though, does not seem to use oil or blow any smoke out of exhaust. I have put in new gas tank, brakes, Weld wheels have been polished and new tires installed, plugs, cap/rotor been replaced. Runs good, OD trans works great, shifts in & out of OD with flip of switch on dash. T Tops do not leak. Has factory CB Radio in it. Have extra parts to go with the car (full stripe kit, rear deck lid spoiler), does have some rust in rear quarters, but not too bad.

Car had fiberglass lift off hood on it . . . I did change that to original type hood, however it was not the original hood, and would need to be painted. The lift off hood (and the mounting hardware) will come with the car, should someone want to put that back on it (I did take pics of the mounting stuff on the car before removing) . . . the scoop on the fiberglass hood is functional and would feed cold air to carb.

Asking $16.5k (canadian funds) for car and the extra parts . . . .

Rust in the lower rear wheel opening (1/4 pnl to wheel tub/trunk floor extension) on both sides, as well as where the rear bumper filler panel screws to the body, in each rear corner under the taillights . . . Obviously missing a body plug on the drivers side trunk floor extension

The Body Frame Date (BFD) can be months apart from the completion date.
There is a (long video) made November '88 from an employee from the WI assembly plant, making M and 4-door L-bodies (Chrysler's smallest and largest cars on same assembly line). In that video, there was a large buffer area of completed "bare" chassis' on carts, that were juggled around. He even commented that some completed "bare" chassis got sent to get right away to be completed while other "bare" chassis got sent to a pool for several weeks. The video taker even commented on how this didn't make any sense to him, either.

I know some of Chrysler's special vehicles (GLH L-bodies and the AAR/TA E-bodies, etc.) had similar BFD's but different completion dates, but that was mostly due to having all of the special parts available at any one time.

You've hit on most of the right answers for the BFD and the build date not coinciding. The plant might batch run certain colors and end up with extra body shells in the body bank. They might not have all of the parts on hand for a particular car, so it sits until they arrive. The supplier might be backordered on a particular component because they will wait until they can run a certain number of that component, particularly if it requires a change in tooling setup in their plant. The assembly plant can build a one of one car far easier than the suppliers can provide parts for a one of one. It might be a particularly loaded car that requires extra manpower on the line. Assembly plants like to build high content vehicles in between base or mid level cars to give the folks on the line time to breathe. On a "regular" car, assembler "A" might have three things to do. On a high content vehicle, this person might have five things to do. All in the same amount of time. So being able to do a five part job once is a WHOLE lot different than doing it 60 times an hour.
