A couple of questions for all the station wagon owners out there. 1. How is the jack suppose to be stowed? The handbook said it fits in a bracket adjacent to the spare wheel but I don't see any bracket? Anyone got photos? 2. This "springie" thing I have my thumb on, is this supposed to "pop" the tailgate slightly when you release the catch? If so mine doesn't. Thanks.

I'm just going from ancient memory of the jack stowage. I think the jack post will rest in the notch in front of the spare. Then the moving part of the jack in the right location on the post will have a hole aligned to the spare hold-down bolt.

The latch looks a bit mangled. The spring may now be in the wrong position. The stationary fork should have both tangs in alignment. The one tang should have the gouge smoothed a bit with a file. The other should be bent ti align with the gouged one. then the spring may ned realigned to be closer to that fork. The whole latch may need adjustment as well.

Thanks for your reply. Yes now looking at the latch, like you said that fork is bent, will get that straighten out then reposition the spring.
