Have a Grant steering and can't find the right install kit. Even Summit guaranteed me the right kit and its a "universal" GM and Jeep. Won't work with the factory turn signal cancel ring. Any help? Thanks
 
For some things they list different parts for tilt vs non tilt. I wonder if that's what's going on?
 
I think for our cars, the tillt wheels are from Saginaw (GM parts supplier), so a GM steering wheel adapter kit would be the right one. I don't know about the non-tilt wheels.

For a standard steering column, use kit number 3314.
Fits: 1970 and later, except E-bodies and L-bodies, including two wheel drive trucks and 1978 - 1984 van. Excludes imports (Colt, etc.)

For a tilt steering column (earlier), use kit number 3196 or 3196-1 (chrome).
Fits: 1978 - 1981, including two wheel drive trucks and vans. Excludes imports (Colt, etc.)

For a tilt steering column (later), use kit number 3324.
Fits: 1982 - 1984, including two wheel drive trucks and vans. Excludes imports (Colt, etc.)
NOTE: 3324 appears to be discontinued, but also appears to possibly be replaced by kit number 4324.


These kits fit the Grant Classic wheels and the Grant "Challenger" wheels. Steering wheel depth and clearance to turn signal/cruise/windshield wiper stalks should be verified, depending on the wheel.

Some 3324 kits are on eBay. 3314 and 3196 kits are readily available, but also on eBay, both current and older production kits.

Yeah those universal kits can be a real pain - I'd definitely go with what Vaanth posted about the specific kit numbers since he seems to know his stuff way better than Summit's "universal" recommendation.
