I was gone 1 hour and 17 minutes. They killed a box of Kleenex , ate half a raw turban squash , and ate 3/4 pound of soft margarine destined for cookies, then generally made a mess.

3/4 lb of soft margarine? I suppose that'll make it easy for them next time they do their business, lol.
Looking at the dogs, there's no way I could ever get mad at them though.

My dog is old fat and lazy ... spitting image of me, but unlike me doesn't make messes anymore.

My two labs are 5 years old now and pretty good now, they don't chew anything anymore, but if something to tempting is left within tongue reach.

Pack mentality?
My 4 yr old 60 pound short-haired mongrel is cool as a cucumber, and good as gold. We've had him for 15 months.
My secret is to run him 3 to 5 miles every morning.
And I beat him when ever I think he might be going to do something bad. No-No-No! He truly is good. He's too tired to be bad,lol.
And too dumb to do anything but play dead all day,lol.
