This poor old '78 Volare wagon has been parted out. It was a four speed too! Pretty rusty, and I'm sure the frame rails were like Swiss cheese. Too bad. Could have been OY's sister from the Plymouth side of the family. It looks pretty plain, but there were actually a few options on it: roof rack, full wheel covers, upgraded split bench seat, four speed OD, power steering, and radio. Not sure what is up with the front seats being lifted up. Maybe the forklift punched through the floor? It would have been a nice car when new. Wonder if it was a slant or a 318?

Sadly, that's about what the typical '78 F-body looked like in this area about 1985 or so..................................

Is this car in a yard somewhere?

I see an 8¼” differential (and maybe even 5-leaf springs), at least.
There is a small chance the driveshaft is not bent (but I wouldn't hold my breath on that - while mumbling something incoherent about forklift drivers).
That grill needs to be gotten by someone.

Even the 4-speed components (petals, linkage, hump, etc.) is worth money.

Yeah, those scrap yard guys and their fork lifts have ruined lots of parts that were good when the car got there. Worse yet is when they move them around with the giant claw. Of course with most scrap yard workers, you get what you pay for and they generally don't pay more then minimum wage so.............................

All wagons were 8.25 rears with 5 leaf spring packs.

Actually, I saw this wagon on EB. DRIVER LEFT FENDER FITS 76-79 ASPEN 351836 | eBay It is out of Sussex, Wisconsin. I have no idea whether the grille is still available, but the grille doesn't seem to be on EB. I agree that a lot of good parts are to be had if the car is still intact.

I see this is an old thread but wanted to let you guys know that I was the guy who got the grille off this old wagon in Sussex WI: H&H Auto Parts (highly recommended BTW; nice people there). It was mostly intact but super brittle. I used parts of it to fix the busted up grille for my 1978 coupe. From what I understand that wagon spent most of it's life near Milwaukee. The engine was gone by the time I got there but I think it was a 318 car. The old grille is now a wall hanger in my garage. It was not mortally wounded in vain!
