Bought in the 80s from a Holley employee that deleted the names on it to make a "sleeper package"to save weight and get better performance. When painted engine color, it would be hard to tell its aluminum, or not a factory intake. Has the electric assist choke provision for an easy swap. Also, no EGR for better performance. Spreadbore or standard carb fits. Asking $225 shipped from 48317. Paypal ok. Thanks.

Note: this small block intake will work with cast iron RV2 A/C compressors – but it doesn’t look to be compatible with the newer aluminum C171 A/C compressors (a chance I might be wrong) – for anyone who wanted to know.

A nice looking intake!

It looks like the thermostat outlet on the intake is centered on the manifold. From the 3 V8 F bodies that I've owned the outlet was moved over to the drivers side and the thermostat housing in smaller. These were all w/AC. Those smaller housings are very hard to find new as the factory ones are rusted beyond repair.

I’m not sure when RV2 production stopped and C171 A/C compressor production started – 1978, maybe?
The date is not that important, if you have no plans on using A/C.

The small block intakes that use the C171, the thermostat is smaller and off to the side.

The RV2 compressors will work with either thermostat design – in most (but not all) cases.
Why one would prefer to use the ol cast iron (and heavy) compressor – IDK.

I would guess that most people looking for this style intake, most likely will not be using A/C.
On the other hand, I need A/C (and a comfortable couch to sit on).

It takes the "standard", robust, aluminum MoPar thermostat housing used in the 60s - 70s. This is a mid 70s intake, so the new style didn't exist yet, IIRC.

That cheesy steel housing doesn't last long, especially if the coolant change interval was neglected.

Well said!

Change the coolant (50% green antifreeze/50% distilled water (or the more expensive pre-mix)) every 2 years or 30k miles, and your cooling system will be very happy.

If not, your thermostat housing and freeze plugs will rust away, your heater core and radiator will spring leaks, etc.

I've got 2 of those offside intakes that are enhanced for my stocker. You can't weld a repair and only industrial/waste water epoxy works.
