Strange, just went to ebay and searched 1979 Volare grille and it popped right up. maybe it took a while before the listing was published.

As much as I need a grill, no way I am paying that much, I get supply and demand but prices of stuff still amazes me at times.

My first thought was that this will go for at least a grand.

Unfortunately not many options here and likely very few NOS around and 40 year old used stuff out in the elements is usually broken or brittle so not surprising it is up there in price.

I'm going to make my own grill out of aluminum tubing then have it powder-coated black. Once I start the mock up I'll post pics.

Excellent idea! I'd be afraid to drive an F with a $1200 plastic grille that can break if you sneeze near it. I bet aluminum tubing would look really nice, and would likely be a close match for the '78/'79 Aspen grilles too. Please do post pictures!!

I saw a chrome square tubing one over here in Kuwait many moons ago. It looked really good. I wish I would have had a camera with me. It was a nice car. I talked to the driver for a little bit.

Blows me away, why pay over 1k for a grille for a car that more then not even the best can hardly pull 10k. Fools and there money.

But at least this one looked really nice and didnt have the chrome wore off the top center area like so many "shelf wear" nos grilles.

The tube grilles were aftermarket from the street rod/van days and there still are good reference pics to be found to copy them.
