I want to buy your FMJ (even '75 and up B or R) body...
Yeah, I'm serious. My last college student kid graduates May 1 and I've been saving! The one I will want to spring for will be a clear #1. #2 or maybe even #3 (see reference from link): Essentially, a "done" or close to it. Not looking for a guarantee, but I'd like to hear you'd have faith in it making a cross-country trip to Michigan if I flew out to get it.

Condition reference:
Collector Car Market Review Condition Guidelines

While I won't be ready to open the wallet till April (maybe a few weeks earlier), I don't think it'll hurt to start the conversation now, while, hopefully, your FMJ is safe from Mickey and Minnie's family and the County Salt Monsters. Now, those things said, I'm not overly fussy:
  • Originality: Not numbers matching? Not concerned. Ditched the Lean Burn? Fine. Long as it's done well. Not a fan of 24-inch wheels or flames on the hood, though. Bonus points for 360 or 318 with performance mods!
  • The year/model: Tend to favor Ms and Js over Fs, but hey--love a good F wagon.
My promise to you? No big games or insulting low-ball offers. I know the world at large doesn't value FMJs the way we do. I won't forget your sweat equity when I make an offer. Willing to pay for the best. I'm not planning on rodding it nor passing off your hard work as my own at a show. Just to enjoy it as it is. Any build threads, underbody pix and receipts would be welcome.

Please feel free to PM me or just reply in this thread with what you're thinking of moving...and thanks for your sweat equity!

Brian

Now this would be mine if it wasn't a 88, because 88 needs a etest for life.
This is SUPER clean underneath

Not many F’s or M’s got sunroofs.
Not knowledgeable enough about J’s to know about them and sunroofs.

I've got a 1980 two door Diplomat if you've got a trade. See, it's my only car and I can't go without a ride. More info if you're interested.

Sorry, Sully--I've nothing to offer in trade. But, if you see an interesting local ride, we might be able to swing a three-way deal!
Can you tell me more about your Diplomat? Maybe pix?!

We're nearing "Go" time for me, folks....

You want some respect for your sweat equity? Here I am. 360? Great. /6?--just ducky!
I will look at any F, J, M, R (not opposed to A, B, C--they just tend to be too expensive) you want to move as long as it's in "needs nothing" to "needs very little" shape. Ready to drive reliably daily. Bondo not a selling point.

I know the world at large (and most of you) wouldn't tend to drop more than $4k on even excellent examples. Heck, you have to have a #1 condition Aspen RT or Roadrunner to break $10k by most reckonings. But I'm willing to go beyond what most will offer, as long as the love and care in your ride are evident.

Some faves:
St. Regis (and any R). Boat tail LeBarons/Dips, Ms with really nice leather, AHBs, modified Fs (woo-hoo!). Mirada, Cordoba (B and J), Anything with Suregrip. But I will look at any Mopar (even your stray As, Bs, Cs...!).

Thanks for listening. Looking forward to see what you've got. Below is the only M I've ever had...big mistake selling.

Im glad I didnt read this when I was threatening to sell my AHB because I was tired of it fighting me whenever I try to do anything to it.

Even had I read it though, its a dash and proportioning valve from being back to driver status..not nearly "done" by my standards, but back to being a solid driver/project with multiple upgrades already.

I gave serious thought to trading or selling last weekend..but I think unless a stupid deal pops up before it's back together I'll probably just keep it.

Indeed, get well, nothing is more important than the care you put into yourself.

Now, regarding your "mission"...have you come up with a budget for this?

I ask because my '81 coupe is just sitting in the garage and the '80 is pretty much finished...actually, it IS finished, the last piece being the 4.10 gearset. So as crazy as it would have sounded to me just a couple of years ago I started to think that maybe I should sell the '80 ride and focus on the '81 build.

If you know anything about my coupe you probably know the amount of time it took me to build it, the care that was put into every single item, that also means the costs that were incurred...yeah, bottom line being that wasn't a cheap project, and despite the fact that I have each and every expense documented, and of course realize that my sell price will never make up for my total spend on theproject, the total price may still be outside of your spend budget.

Just some food-for-thought as they say.

Hey!
Sorry, again, for being incommunicado. I am in physical therapy right now but look to be driving again by spring. I wouldn't look to go much over $10-12K for any FMJ, even if I acknowledge there are rides with substantially more sweat and dollar equity in them. I'd love to hear about the 80! And Windsor's just a stroll away!

Thanks,
Brian
