Just Dashes.

Anyone have anything done by Just Dashes? I'm thinking I'm going to send mine there cause it's Just Beat and does the rest of the car no justice at all. What's the price and quality? The seats are buckets and I'll get a shop in town to do them and I actually got extra black door panels with the car when I bought it but the cardboard backing isn't the best but am willing thinking an interior shop can fix that too.

I've heard they're brutally expensive. Not sure about the quality.
All hearsay on my part though. Is it just the top that's done?
You could always go the dash cap route.

Yes, just the top I want to get done and also a new console lid. Buckets will be getting done by a shop in town. Friggin mice.

No personal experience with Just Dashes, but I have heard they do excellent work but are painfully slow and VERY painfully expensive. I think I've heard like $1000 for a dash pad.

Yes they do EXCELLENT work. I've seen some stuff they've done in person and it looks exactly like original, only better. Price is up there but in their defense, I watched a thing on TV once where they showed the restoration of a dash pad and it is very labor intensive. Remember they strip it down (dash pads) to the bare metal shell and start from scratch. I guess what I mean is quality costs. I wanted to get my plastic rear interior trim panels covered and the rough estimate (without them actually seeing them in person) means they are not covered......................

For a dash pad you may want to search around a bit for a nice used one. Might get lucky. Might find a nice dahs pad too (lol).

I have seen their work, it is amazing. A buddy actually photographed the whole process while they did his and there is so much work involved it is surprising it doesn't cost more.

Not at all. There's 4 bolts (5/16" socket size I think they are) along the windshield in the defroster vent slots and then a series of phillips and/or 5/16" hex bolts along the lower edge of the pad. Can't recall exactly right now but they're probably just the hex head bolts (technically hex screws but that's picking nits) There is also 2 phillips screws that go horizontally on either side of the cluster "hood". Takes maybe 5 minutes to pull.

Guess the toughest part is the 4 bolts along the top. The angle is different than the glass so you almost need a long extension and swivel socket (1/4" drive) but it can be done with out the swivel, just be careful to not scratch the glass with the ratchet.

F dash fix on the cheap if not being original, is a M body dash.
You have to do the top and bottom parts at the same, but M's were made 77-89, so there's plenty more out there and they really have to be abused before they crack.

None of my 8 M's have a farked dash pad.

Not exactly the same but it fits well and looks pretty good.

It's been 15 years ago. A Duster dash pad cost me $1000. at Just Dashes.The shop I was working with thru out my dash pad and a core charge was $400.Very painful. But so it goes.......

I know this is an old thread....but saw the pics....and have to ask....

Is that a painted cap? Looks good.

The pad in my sons Volare is cracked...not horrible but three places.

A cap is about $100-150....plus the cost and hassle of painting it and hoping it matches.

A local upholstery shop quoted him $210 to cover it...I assume with vinyl.....said it would take 2 weeks....

Just dashes seems to have come down on the price of the F body dash pad. I had checked many years ago and they were around $1,000. I checked a few months ago and they were around $550 IIRC.

I know they were charging over $1300 at one point for a 72 Cuda dash.....too rich for my blood then...

And $550 plus another $100 shipping round trip too rich for the kiddo's blood now....LOL

I think the local guy will do a great job for the $210. Hopefully. LOL
