So I come out of the office of this body shop were I was getting an estimate to paint my rims and some guy who I think worked there was looking at my LeBaron. As I'm walking up I expected this guy to say nice car or something like that. This stupid looking MF looks up at me and in a stupid sounding voice says "that would make a good derby car". Shocked I said you would take a nice clean car like this and use it for a derby car. He said I bought one cleaner than that for 800 bucks and won three thousand with it. I can't tell you the rest of the story because it is mostly profanity on my part, but let's just say our conversation didn't last another 15 seconds, what a dumb dick.

Also on your data plate, there is a V code, which is the roof code.
What does it say?
 
V3B is the top color. It did end up having the vinyl top still on it.
 
Ya thats what the PO told me but it actually still had the top on it. As far as parts you already noticed in a previous thread that I need some trim and the one eagle.Thanks in advance for any help in finding this stuff. Oh and its missing the wind shield wiper assembly from inside the cowl, go figure.
 
The only that was right about what the guy said is they do make good derby cars. Other than that he was a jack wad.
 
Not sure if they have Tim Horton's down there, but up here in Canuckland they had a contest where you could win a 2012 toyota matrix.

Always wanted to win it and show up at the derby with a spanking new toyota.

You know he probably actually MEANT IT as a backhanded compliment because those drunkenly slapped together chevy shitboxes fall apart right away and all the Mopar's kick ass.

Like Doc says, the better the Mopar's do, the more reasons they come up with to ban them.

I get a lot of offers on my Volare, but I'm not selling. So the other day a couple of kids in some old Datsun come up beside me at a light and the one in the passenger seat shouts out at me "for sale, Mr.?" I just looked at him and thought "NO and never to the likes of you it isn't"...

And people get pissed off at me when I go on an anti-derby rant.

What kills me are the fellow Mopar guys derby-ing M-bodies. They never like it when you suggest they derby their car of choice (B-bodies, A-bodies, etc.)
But it's good for a laugh to put the shoe on the other foot when they start spitting and spurting about hard to find parts, good powertrains, etc. That's when I look at 'em and smile.

I'm sure doing the derby is a hell of a time and I'm also sure that the reason people run Chrysler's is cause they hold up so well.
But it is becoming harder and harder to find M parts as it is.

Like I said... That's what mid to late 80' s chevy's and pontiac's are for.
