Picked up an 80 Duster

Hi. My son picked up another Volare. Looks quite clean. Slant, auto. Ps, pb.
Once we get it home its into the garage and go through everyghing so its ready for spring.

Thanks guys. Its a Manitoba car. Actually its from B.C. It was brought here not long ago. Seems like it was garzged rdgularly and has been parked the last few years. Starts right up and no unusual noises.
It looks quite decent.

2300. Figured its a fair price since the body is so nice. Going to check with Sms fabrics if they can match the plaid seat material thats torn. Some dynamat for the floors then new carpet

A good plan. It takes a bit of work but it pays off.

I would recommend replacing the seat foam at same time. Not hard to do and it makes a huge difference when sitting in one.

Looks like you found a VERY nice survivor! A really nice little red coupe! Those floors look great! Congratulations!
Just a idea for you... I was originally going to use Dynamat or something like it on OY's floors beneath the new carpet, but then after I saw the rust free condition of the floors, I decided not to. I didn't like the idea of sticking some adhesive backed sound barrier all over the floors which might be very difficult to remove if I ever wanted or needed to. I decided to use the "Mass Backing" upgraded carpet from ACC instead. It is a thick rubber-like coating molded on the back of the carpet, and then it has the original felt insulation on top of that. It works well, seems quiet, and I am glad I didn't gunk-up my floors with adhesive. The Dynamat or some like product might work a bit better as sound insulation, but it's also more expensive and a little too "permanent" for me.

Hmmm that might be an idea.
Ill have to look into it.
I think il coat it with epoxy primer before anything in an effort to prevent future rust on the floor. These things seem to rust at the mere mention of moisture.
