    Propeller shaft and rear axel

Thanks for your help and it is a 3.18 in the car if that is a small block. Could be a good idea though! I will ask the person for a decent price for the lot. My A998 works well since I swapped the gearbox. Will check it over to make sure it is a A998 as the car was laid up for 22 years. Drives...

    Propeller shaft and rear axel

I have just found a company locally, only a couple of miles away from me who can deal with the problem. Cardanservice.no Thanks for all help so far. Lots of good wishes to you all in this forum

    Propeller shaft and rear axel

Point taken! Brilliant and I will find a company that should be able to shorten it about 1.6" meaning around 40 mm. Finding a proper one should be difficult over here as Diplomat was not sold in Sweden and the G22 are a rare bird.

    Propeller shaft and rear axel

Thanks for your help. The penny drop now. A shorter propeller shaft for the 727 and longer for the A9 series. That means my shaft should be a straight fit according to the picture below.

    Propeller shaft and rear axel

I understand but a good machineshop may shorten it and weld it together as well as balancing it. I shall inquire some junkyards in Norway and Sweden about a propeller shaft to save me a lot of work. Correct me if I am wrong but the A904 gearbox number is a referance number for the A9.... and...

    Propeller shaft and rear axel

Hi all, I carry on with my G22 and have more or less sorted out the rear bumper. Had the back of it sandblasted locally. A nice job and I have also used two layers of rust killer on the bare metal, two priming coat on top and finish now with glossy paint two layers and a coat layer coming up...

    Rear axels

Anybody know the codes on this axel? I hope it shall fit. The automat is a 727 from the car it was taken. Not sure what I have as I swopped one way back in 1990. The old one was clapped out. He has the cardan as well.

    Rear axels

Dette stemmer til punkt og prikke. Men det finnes ofte bra med deler i Sverige selv om det tørker opp der også. USA og Rockauto har jo masse av slitedeler.

    Rear axels

Yes, they were bullet proof and well engineered. Rally Sweden in February was run half a mile from our house in Sweden. Värmland, Hagfors was the centre.

    Rear axels

Good morning to you. Yes there are a lot of old US cars over here. Volvo and SAAB too. The SAAB was the most comfortable one I have ever had, a 2000 9-5. Well engineered and a joy to drive. Rust unfortunately killed her. A 1996 SAAB 9000 was the fastest one I have had. Went like stink with the...

    Rear axels

I will check everything when over to our house in Sweden. To find someone who may shorten it should be of minor problem in Sweden hopefully!

    Rear axels

Thanks for your information and it came from a Diplomat car dismantled 2 weeks ago. He may have some more stuff lying around and I shall offer him $ 200 - $ 300 for it. Nice and clean so maybe I am lucky. I have all parts for rebuilding the 7 1/4" one already but would prefer the larger axel as...
