8.25 sure gip wanted for my 81 Imperial.

Since I cant swap better gears into my 224 geared 8-1/4 rear because of the small carrier, and I will never get close to the hp numbers it takes to break an 8.25 stock rear... I'm thinking I should use a bolt in swap. The whole frickin rear. So.. if you are a northeaster, reasonably close to...

    1981 Imperial Steering slop..

I cant tell if it is in my box, or in the steering coupler.. Definitely one of those two tho. I assume there is a steering box adjustment I can do to see if it improves anything, But Looking at the wiggle in the wheel (and steering shaft) going into the box I'm thinking it the coupler is the...

temperature light, 81 imperial. Frank thinks he has a fever.

So.. My temp warning light came on the other day. Right after I cleaned pretty thoroughly under the hood. Yeah, I know.. not the best idea. The temp seems low enough, no crazy boil over when opening the cap at all.. everything seems normal, except for the light. Since, I did a thermostat change...

I even checked the diagram kkritsilas posted (thanks)in case i had my rear-o-meter out of whack and was dreaming when I had it up on the lift just after...

    8 1/4 imperial/dakota rear questions.

New to the world of mopar... and I have an 81 imp.. So that means an 81/4 open rear with 224 gears.. Something needs to be done about that. :) I *think* the guts from a dakota 81/4 can be used, and there a more than a few in local yards, but I'm sure there is a bunch I should learn.. It's where...

My car is Low.. no issue even on the shit roads around here. Running 235/65/17, any bigger or wider would cause a few crunchy scrape noises. Is VERY close to rubbing, but ok. No idea how it'd do with folks in the back seat. Speedo is perfect by my gps in that tire size too .
