Thank you for clearing that up.

From what I've read I was under the impression I'd have to settle for the 10's from the 7 1/4 since. He already had everything in shop so I won't bother him about it at this point. We were just waiting on the leaf springs and that was it for the back.

So I'm having my 8 1/4 installed next week and the shop doing the work will use the backing plates off the 7 1/4. The backing plates on my 88 7 1/4 can utilize either the 10in or 11in brakes? If that's the case I'll keep that in mind the next time I need the rear brakes replaced and go with the...

Chrysler 8 1/4 for Sale in Lagrange/Elyria Ohio Area

I remember your posting about that before and that was when I decided to go for the 3.21's. I think it'll be a sweet cruiser with that gear set and the Sniper. I have about 400 miles to go before that gets fine tuned.

Chrysler 8 1/4 for Sale in Lagrange/Elyria Ohio Area

I've had mine at the shop to have the whole backend redone since the rear brakes weren't working well. Mine has the 3.21 ratio. He's just trying to get the leaf springs now. I almost went for the 3.07 gears.

Chrysler 8 1/4 for Sale in Lagrange/Elyria Ohio Area

I posted that pic because that's what I thought, but didn't want to tell the seller that in case I was mistaken. Thanks.

Chrysler 8 1/4 for Sale in Lagrange/Elyria Ohio Area

Found this on Facebook Marketplace. Perch mounts 44 inches center to center, and has an open carrier. The diff came out of a '69 Coronet. Owner is unsure what gear set is installed. $200

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

Since my last post on this thread, I did send the car back to the shop that finished the work and had the linkage corrected. It was indeed set up the way it would be installed in a GM product, on a Mopar, it's basically backwards, but now my transmission shifts much better and now the kickdown...

Sorry for your loss. Never an easy time, but even harder during the holidays.

So... I'm having a Merry Christmas.....

Did they give a reason why on the zinc? I thought only the pre-85 model years would need it.

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

That’s where I was beginning to think the problem was after moving the rod to what the correct location would be at the throttle body. When the shifts became even more out of whack, with first shifting to 2nd at 35mph, I turned the car around and headed back to storage. The car is too low to the...

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

Well, Merry Christmas to everyone! I did try moving the throttle rod to the correct spot on my throttle body and that really made it worse, with first shifting to second at 35 mph, so I turned around and headed back to the storage unit and put everything back to the original spot since I got the...

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

I was just 13 at that time lol but wow, better days back then. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see what can be done and keep this and the Lokar stuff in mind. One way or another we'll get it figured out, I'm just glad there's options.

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

I haven't yet. Temperatures are supposed to go up to the 40s and 50s here soon, so I'll give that a shot. I made friends with the guy who started the work on this and he offered to take a look and see what we can do too. At least he has a lift at the shop if it does come to that.

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

I checked out the Lokar kickdown cable kit on Summit and plan on ordering it, but I'd like to have everything I need so the work can be done with as few headaches as possible lol. This link is what I'm looking at. Is this enough to take care of the shift points on my transmission, or any other...

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

That pic is a little off, because I ended up pushing that screw all the way to the right, against the clip and that's when the shifts began to improve. We'll have to put it up in the air and see if that's what's going on, if it may be pushed in.

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

I'm thinking that 20-7 part from Holley may be what I need, but I'll verify with them before I order and post it here. If I don't get a reply on their website, I'll call them on one of my days off next week.

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

I've got my work cut out for me, luckily it's winter. I was even looking at the Lokar cables that Camtron mentioned in one of my other posts. I'll keep an eye out for a reply from Holley also where to go from here and I've got my trunk full of everything that is no longer in the engine. Other...

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

I'm on the Holley site now. I did ask if throttle extension 20-7 would work on the 550-866 Sniper and haven't gotten a reply yet. I that piece in your pic the same as a throttle lever extension? Here's the link to the part I asked Holley about...

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

I wondered if I'd be better off ordering the Lokar linkage. I still have the lean burn carb and all that junk in the trunk. I've got it parked back in the storage till we can get it fixed. As far as the cruise control, I haven't tried it since I had the Holley installed. It did work when I still...

    Throttle Kickdown with Holley Sniper

When I picked up my car after having the Holley Sniper small bore 2GC (part #550-866), the transmission shifts were way off, and I mentioned that in another section on here. So I made a couple adjustments, I’ve never really messed with throttle linkage before, and it’s a little better, but...
