I have that Lares steering gear box in my car with almost 3000 miles on it and so far no leaks. To this point I'm happy with its performance.

It was the last one as far as I could tell on E-Bay. Should be here tomorrow and hopefully the driveshaft will be back from getting cut.

I know 2 years ago neither I, nor the shop that was working on my car could find any Y-pipes, but an exhaust shop can cut one based on the one in your car if it's still available.

Got that replaced and the rear view mirror put back in place. New insulation looks so much nicer under the hood.

I ordered the hood insulation from Collector's Auto Supply and would like to replace it today, if possible. Has anyone done this before? I need to know which tabs I should get to mount it to the hood. I've never replaced the insulation on these before.

From what I've read I was under the impression I'd have to settle for the 10's from the 7 1/4 since. He already had everything in shop so I won't bother him about it at this point. We were just waiting on the leaf springs and that was it for the back.

So I'm having my 8 1/4 installed next week and the shop doing the work will use the backing plates off the 7 1/4. The backing plates on my 88 7 1/4 can utilize either the 10in or 11in brakes? If that's the case I'll keep that in mind the next time I need the rear brakes replaced and go with the...

I remember your posting about that before and that was when I decided to go for the 3.21's. I think it'll be a sweet cruiser with that gear set and the Sniper. I have about 400 miles to go before that gets fine tuned.

I've had mine at the shop to have the whole backend redone since the rear brakes weren't working well. Mine has the 3.21 ratio. He's just trying to get the leaf springs now. I almost went for the 3.07 gears.
