Agreed. These cars came from the factory "customized" in the way of half vinyl tops, opera lamps & windows... all that was from an earlier time that trickled into mainstream production. Under all that baloney is a pretty nice body design, for the coupe M cars particularly. Mine already had it's...

    Nose swaps

My only complaint is that they act immediately instead of a soft on / soft off for the amber flash. New Mazdas seem to have fixed that, their turn signals use LEDs on a smooth increase/decrease of intensity... this gives the viewer's eyes a longer reference point whereas the instant on/off kind...

I use E-code lamps but l dont have a rectangle set yet. My round lite F body car has them and the lens light pattern is much more even and direct with a distinct oncoming traffic cut off than SAE fuzzy beam lites that are the standard for US cars. The E-codes still use an incandescent bulb, not...

I put in these new LED lites that turn from white to amber when the turn signal is on for my 79. In the running lamp position of the headlamp switch, its almost like they are thin headlights... l like the look

Like them or not, the original over-the-headlight turn signal was on the 1977 LeBarons. It was updated in 1980. This later design wrapped the lens up and over the top of the bezel and repeated at the rear fenders with the taillights/reflectors that ran up onto the top of the fenders. These were...

FSM Ignition System wiring diagram error in 1978 FSM

I suspect the arrow is misplaced. I think it should be pointed downward more to the J2 circuit wire. I thought it was interesting, the end result would be no wire grounding the coil, a blasphemy of epic proportions in an electrical service manual.

FSM Ignition System wiring diagram error in 1978 FSM

I found an error in the 1978 Electrical Service Manual "Ignition System" wiring diagram, on page HNFG 8 in the wiring diagrams section. It would appear there is no wire going from to the negative coil post from anywhere on Slant 6 models. In the orange box, it says "8 cylinder" with no other...

    Windshields

I've read that the 88-89 cars used galvanized steel, that this happened when production moved to Kenosha. That might be the answer.

1979 was the first year for thin glass windshields for the FM cars. It saved 2 pounds if I recall the tech bulletin on it.

I got an M body coupe windshield 2 years ago from Portland, OR. Forget the name of the place but the glass was dusty as if it was in the warehouse for a long while.

    A Pillar R&R

I recovered some 5th ave A pillars a few years ago. I can't recall the screw situation but I do remember that I didn't need to use much glue, just on the back of the plastic and even there, the Walmart material I got which was very much like the original stretched and held very easily. It looked...

FOR SALE 82 Cordoba Part out

Eventually, I'm going to need the wiring harness for the power windows with relay and door-to-cowl wire loom tubes, the power door lock harness and servo w/brackets too. Add to that the relay for the power door locks. Also, the interior door handles with rod to the latch. Those need to have...

    A Pillar R&R

it's a different car, but the 2 door LeBaron/Diplomats and maybe Volare/Aspens require the dash pad with metal extension to be removed to get to the screw for the A pillar trim that runs under the metal panel.
