    Gauge lights LED upgrade

So, I know it's been a few months since anyone replied to this thread, but I have 2 questions. 1.) Do all FMJ Bodies share the same gauge cluster (GC) and climate control (CC) bulbs? I looked at O'Reilly's and Auto Zone, neither had the CC bulb. However, they both had the GC in their systems...

Revers Lights Flickering, Lord Have Mercy

Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. I'll most likely grab a NSS and replace it on a day coming up.

Revers Lights Flickering, Lord Have Mercy

Hello everybody, Recently, I was driving with my buddies behind me on the highway, and when we pulled into the apartment parking lot, they said my reverse lights were flickering on and off. "we thought you were telling us to slingshot around you" (watched Fast 9, so of course a bit of Dom was...

Vacuum Chamber in the Emissions System

I was looking at it, and half of it is rubbed away by the weather stripping. Since it runs, I don't think there's too big of a problem.

Vacuum Chamber in the Emissions System

So I went out to look at the vacuum again. So the EGR line is split, as you can see, and runs to one of the thermal sensors. There's also a line coming off of the air pump purge valve. The last line runs from the other thermal sensor to this branch as well as the back of the BBD and the vacuum...

    Window track tube sleeve

Today I went out to fix the problem. Since the correct part couldn't be found, I had to make one.... I purchased a 1" plastic end cap from a local hardware store. I took the door panel off, and got to work. I first drilled a hole into the cap using a step bit. From there, it was a combination...

    Window track tube sleeve

A rubber one might work but I'm worried it'll just year after 20 uses. I think there's a volare that's being sold whole or parts, might have to take two off of that one and save one for the passenger side, when it inevitably fails.

    Window track tube sleeve

Hello all, Before Thanksgiving, I tore into my door because the glass was rattling around when it was in the down position. Upon inspection, the plastic sleeve (that goes between the guide post and the lower guide hole in the metal mounting bracket for the window) had split in half and fell...

    Air conditioning

It's only seeping from just after the crimp, and it's actually bulging a little. Yeah, I'll have to at least replace that one line and the compressor. I just don't want to do that, and then have another line give out in another year or two. If I decide to get it fixed, I'll have to bite the...

    Air conditioning

I know the system is low, on max ac after running for 30+ min, it only gets down to 80, when it got down to around 50 when it was first refilled. The compressor runs constantly, and it's actually starting to sound bad. While I'm not too worried about ac right now (rust repair comes first), I'd...

    Air conditioning

So, it has come to my attention that my compressor and one line are seeping. I know I can probably get a compressor, or even a rebuild kit. When the ac was done a few summers ago, we had talked about getting fresh lines, but had a hard time finding anyone that remade them. So, am I sol on the...

    1980 volare value

I got my 80 Volare evaluated at Carlisle, all original auto /6 ac 100k miles and trans, 10k on motor rebuild. It was estimated around 10k I think, but that was for insurance purposes. Like they were saying, 3 grand is reasonable for a decent 80 F body.

    Turn signal/AC connection?

Yeah, sorry about that. Couldn't easily post the video, even after trimming, so I just posted the drive Link.

    Turn signal/AC connection?

From what I remember, I had my AC system fixed 2 summers ago. The only things not replaced were the condenser, compressor, and lines. All the other components were replaced. That being said, I've noticed a small leak front the front of the compressor, so I'm planning on replacing the compressor...

    Turn signal/AC connection?

Howdy all, A few nights ago, i took the red bomb for a ride, and noticed something strange...... This year happens to be the first year I've had AC and led turn signal conversion in the winter. Normally, the turn signal and AC work fine (in the summer months). Recently, I've had to drive with...

    1980 F body tail lights.

How goes it? So, Carlisle was about a week or two ago. While I was there, I got a center console, head light bezels, tail lights, passenger side half-dash, arm rest, and some exterior door handles. I decided today that I wanted to work on the tail lights. They aren't too rough, chrome is...

Why is that normal? What is the purpose, just to reinforce?

    Frame rot

So, here's the Carnage. Driver side is the bad side, for obvious reasons. I do have a question about these frame rails. On the passenger side, at the back of the rail, it looks like there's an inner piece that's crimp welded to the outer rail. I don't see any sign of something similar on the...

    Incandescents to LEDs

While on break, instead if eating, I decided to tinker with the car. Turns out, the hazards and the t-sig are two different fuses. I had replaced the hazards today, that's why they worked the way they did. So, naturally, I pulled the new fuse out and put it back into the t-sig slot. I put the...
