    FMJ with Super Stock springs

The way it was done back in the day was to use the main leaf of a stock leaf spring and then use the bundle from the SS springs and then clamp the front leaves together.. However I would fabricate or modify the Ebody hangers for the length needed. But now days I would use Calvert Racing springs...

Battery suggestions for F body big block swap

The largest optional battery for a fully loaded 360 will work just fine for a 440 and recommend using a starter off of 1990 Dodge Dakota V6 on your big block… A battery tender will do wonders for battery life. One more thing buy a decent quality battery, I’ve very good luck with NAPA batteries.

    Hair pulling transmission problem

Was the new transmission complete or did you need to swap parts? Have you verified that the transmission mechanicly goes through the gear rage at the valve body without the vehicle running? Park is park, neutral is neutral, drive is drive etc. etc.? Also verified the kick down linkage is...

    Hood Scoop ??.⁶

I believe every factory functional hood scoop was sealed from the engine compartment so it only took in cold air from outside the engine compartment. I could be wrong but I can’t remember one.

A BODY TO F BODY FRONT END

The Fbody is wide like an Ebody, a 440 easily fits the engine compartment like a B or Ebody. The Fbody fenders have a rounded side profile the Abody fenders are pretty much flat in comparison. The Fbody hood is much wider than the Abody. US Body Source had hoods and bumpers at one time but in my...

    Hood Scoop ??.⁶

Try it and see if your car doesn’t pick up some mph with a little free forced air… mine did and needed a little more jet. Also if I remember correctly your car doesn’t have a stock engine compartment to retain heat like most of the cars here do so the comparison is irrelevant.

    Hood Scoop ??.⁶

For a hood scoop to work properly you need to seal the bottom of the air cleaner to the bottom of the hood so the engine only receives air from outside the engine compartment. I would recommend opening up the hole as large as possible and fabricating a large air box around the air cleaner that...

$200 8 1/4 Sure Grip axle, F body, Wisconsin Facebook

I’ve had several 8.25 diffs and axel’s that I ended up giving away because nobody wanted them. Swapping out a diff is fairly straightforward and getting a good pattern is usually as simple as setting backlash. He will be lucky if it doesn’t go to the scrapper.

The gears suck but it’s worth a couple hundred bucks, you might even be able to work him down a little to say $150.

    Help me identify my chassis

The car was his personal vehicle and didn’t even have dealer plates on it but once they started checking they checked every vehicle on the lot including my truck. He didn’t have any issues with the business just his vehicle.

    Help me identify my chassis

I worked for a guy that did it to his personal vehicle and somehow it was discovered, he was a used car dealer, he got charged with a felony and he lost the vehicle plus he was charged with a money crime because he had a bank note on the vehicle that had the frame from another vehicle under it...

    Help me identify my chassis

Actually that’s not true, it’s a federal felony to switch frames and not have the DOT involved. The legal VIN is what is on the frame unless you go through the process of getting everything legal. Your insurance company might check the VIN on the frame after an accident and if the vehicle has...

Leaf Spring Shackle - regular vs HD and sway bar combo

Auto makers have been using the same colors since WW2, the modern formulas will change the color slightly but it’s been rinse and repeat over and over again. I scanned the dash in my 64 Fairlane and the color came up as a 2012 Toyota color… lol It was a perfect match

    Help me identify my chassis

The Dakota frame will have a VIN on it and before you drop money into your new project you should have checked out. You don’t know if it is hot, scrapped unless you have a good title for it and I hope you do. Because as far as the DOT is concerned your old truck will be a rebodied Dakota pickup.

    Rear leaf spring "tensioner"??

I’ve seen those before just never gave them any thought, how would they be a tensioner?

    Rear leaf spring "tensioner"??

Why is there no photos, I’m truly interested in what the your talking about but I’m having trouble visualizing what you are talking about. Having worked on a scraped far too many A B C and F/M body mopars and haven’t seen anything like what you are describing. Post a damn picture.

    Rear leaf spring "tensioner"??

Without photos it doesn’t exist, it’s just BS… You can get pictures or screenshots of anything and post them here so after being asked for several times and no pictures, I say it’s Bull Shit.
