    360cu Engine Upgrades

I Guess the other question is whether or not to keep my 2 x 10" subs in the back. They add likely 200 LBS with everything, i noticed an increase in traction...so this is a good thing? It made it harder to spin the tires before but now thats not a problem.

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Working on it, been really busy. Ill shoot a video of it starting up and running. I need to do some suspension work though as its wondering a bit on the highway when the road is crowned...when im done that ill take it to the track and get the wife to take a video. I also did those custom MSD...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Car is done guys, im spinning tires in 2nd still lol. I ended up going with a XE275HL with the performance world Mopar heads and single beehive springs & PW adjustable mopar rockers. The rockers were a huge pain with all the shims though to get it right. Installed a performance world ignition...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

I should probably look at swapping it with the cam that i have at some point in the future.

    360cu Engine Upgrades

So is the rpm miles better? Ive read the difference between the rpm and the air gap is minimal only worth a few HP.

    360cu Engine Upgrades

haha for sure, i might go to the track one day with the wife if i have time. I might also have access to a dyno, so ill be testing it after. One last thing though, i realized i only have the Performer intake not the "RPM Performer". Whats that really worth though a few HP? Im not sure if its...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

yeah i like the rough idle and it would take advantage of the 3000 stall, 3.91 gears and higher compression. I imagine with the higher lift and longer duration that it would sound louder/more aggressive aswell. Like i said its not a daily, just a cruiser once or twice a week on a sunny day. In...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Yeah well i think he gets a better deal on these heads as these are in canada and dont have to deal with exchange. Yes 63CC chambers like all the others, however he said with a "0.060 gasket and my current setup i should be looking at around 10:1 with the aluminum heads which will be fine. He...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

The heads i was to have machined were from a fresh rebuilt short block 360, no idea who did the work as i had the block sitting for years. The heads that i will be buying are here: Performance World 63171A SB Mopar 179cc Cylinder Heads pair (Complete) I emailed Comp cams again and sent him the...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Alright I got more details here. He said rather than put the money into these heads as it will take more than we discussed. They used oversize valve stems rather than new guides they dont have hardened exhaust seats , springs wont work with new cam. Sell them for $650 +/- Buy alum for $1790...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Ah turns out my heads have already been machined...dont know all the details but something with the valve guides and the intakes cannot be ported to 2.02. So now im stuck using stock heads since i decided not to spring for aluminum heads on this build. I talked to edelbrock and they said their...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

yeah $650, i believe he is going to pick the the springs as im just going to get the cam from him. I've also heard of beehive springs, new technology?>

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Makes sense, I'm bring the heads to a machine shop and hoping he can pick the springs for the cam I want. Turns out he can order the cam and all the parts and will machine out the heads for me...make it a sort of package deal.

    360cu Engine Upgrades

True, however one can get stronger single springs...why does it need to be duals?
  16. T

    360cu Engine Upgrades

So i guess the idea is to match a single spring as close to what the recommended spring is? Comp Cams got back to me BTW, said that with single springs i wont be revving over 3000 RPM's thats why i need dual's, i think that's ridiculous but ok. I've always heard single springs are fine for...

    Volare/Aspen rear side glass leaking

Thanks ill check it out, a huge pain as i did all this just with the wrong products apparently. I cleaned up all the rust already on the floor pan and treated everything with Por 15. The car was redone 25 years ago and has since been stored inside so most of the source of the water was from...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

ahh gotcha, ill add it to my list of upgrades. That stupid ballast resistor left me stranded once. If i would have known i would have walked to Napa, haha. Ok so i emailed comp cams, they told me the XE274 comes with the recommended dual springs which would require machining on the top of the...

    Volare/Aspen rear side glass leaking

My rear side glass pieces were leaking, so i pulled them off and cleaned up the area. Turns out they are still leaking. First i tried butyl tape which didnt work very well at all, after cleaning up that i tried Proflex RV sealant and Buytl caulking on the other side. I cut a 2x4 to keep pressure...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Hmm i also read that a thicker head gasket would also make the intake hard to fit aswell, makes sense that you would need to get creative to seal the intake.

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Lots to know, i do appreciate all the information. I found someone retired that claims they would work on the heads for pretty cheap, given the fact I found some interesting information on the stock modified heads in some builds I might just go this route. The link is here if anyone is...

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Just curious here, why can’t I use thick head gaskets to lower compression ratio on aftermarket heads?

    360cu Engine Upgrades

Ouch yeah, hard to justify putting that kind of coin into iron heads. But i guess i will have to make a decision here. With my Pistons and stock stroke...again according to the KB piston specs i would be making 10.9:1 with the chart with 62cc heads. Still too high i imagine even with 91 octane...

    360cu Engine Upgrades
