Thanks to this thread, I was able to make sense of the box of wiper junk that came with my car and get mine fixed. Need to restore the arms and get blades, but the motor and transmission linkage work as designed.

My handle is P/N 4184227......looking around online, 4184228 supercedes it and looks identical. But the listings say doesn't fit my car. Should I order the 4228's anyway? I can't see ANY differences.

I found some more pics last night of factory senders, and I think I have it figured out. I had thought the low level would act as a switch. Looks like the dark blue is the sender, light blue is low level, and grey is ground.

That's awesome. Didn't the late 80's roller 318's have more compression to begin with than the 70's early 80's 318's? I keep reading about 302/308 heads. A lot swear by them if you put the work into them...and a lot say they're over-rated and go with the Magnum heads.
