Pickup Magnum exhaust manifolds to exit behind the last cylinder. I hadn’t confirmed that they want to occupy the same space of firewall, or not – but by the looks of it, I can believe it.

Jeep Magnum exhaust manifolds to exit between the last two cylinders (Left side) and under last cylinder (Right side) and would be a much better fit.

Notes:
The passenger side Magnum manifold (either Jeep or pickup) will not have the heat riser flap on it.
If you are going fuel injected – that will not be a problem. Carbureted vehicles do need that flap for cold drivability.
The driver’s side Magnum manifold does not have a provision for the heat stove. One can be fabricated but that will take work. Again, if you are going fuel injected, that will not matter (or live in an area that rarely goes below freezing.
The early Magnum exhaust manifolds have a larger outlet size than later ones have (for some reason).
Most Right side manifolds have a fitting for EGR (but not all do). If you get one with that fitting, you can fabricate a piece of steel to cover that hole, using the two bolt holes already provided.
Most (if not all) Magnum exhaust manifolds are being repop’ed – so finding new ones is not a problem. Even so, cheap used ones are out there.
I purchased a Left Grand Cherokee manifold, casting number 53009477, for $13.75 (US) on eBay, and that included freight, a couple of years ago.
There are 3 different Grand Cherokee manifold part numbers to look for:
53009378 ‘93-95 Right
53009379 ‘93-98 Left (casting number is 53009477)
53050869 ‘96-98 Right
The pickups, vans, Durango’s and Dakotas have the rear outlet (and most likely will not fit an FMJ)
53006620 92-93 Right Pickup & Van
53006621 92-93 Left Pickup & Van
53010188 94-95 Right Pickup, Van and Dakota
53010189 94-03 Left Pickup, Van and Dakota
53030873 96-03 Right Pickup, Van and Dakota (small outlet)
Note: I do not recall how the
92-93 pickup manifolds look, or outlet design. The pre-magnum exhaust manifolds for that body style pickups for this engine, were both center exit – but I recall these looking something like the 94 and newer pickup versions.
I found this picture during a Google search – but not sure if a correct picture, or not (looks more like Jeep design).
Other options would be M-body 318 police exhaust manifolds (I have been looking for a pair for a couple of years now – to no avail)
The next to best option is the ’68-71 340 exhaust manifolds (which flow about the same as the Magnums do). The Left side goes up and over the steering gear. The Right side looks as close to a header you can make (out of cast iron).
I happen to have a Left ’70 340 A-body exhaust manifold (cast number 2863553) for sale, if interested
Personally, I prefer cast iron because they are quieter and do not require the maintaince headers require (as well as busted knuckles, etc. installing headers).
I will be looking for a auto shifter that will work on my application.
Was your vehicle an automatic, to begin with (but missing parts)?
