I know fenders changed for 80.
I think M body is the same fender for 80.

I believe the front clip is the only real difference. Pretty sure the '79 front clip will bolt on an '80 but may require some mods to the radiator support(?). I know of a guy that did it (turned an '80 wagon into a '79) but don't remember exactly what all was involved, if anything.

I'm pretty sure it's the whole front clip, including the bumper. Rear bumper is different between 1980 and the rest as well.
Is this just personal preference or for a NHRA/IHRA class car?

2 door, 4 door, wagon...front clips are all the same for the same year.
You can swap the entire front clip, everything that bolts on. The bumper AND bumper shocks are different as well. It should all just bolt on, direct swap. May have to swap the rear bumper and shocks as well if they are going to be picky.
Lots of other differences between 79 and 80 as well but I dont think they'll matter for your application. Its strictly appearance, correct?
