1980 Mexican Spec Valiant Volare - 60603D
Hello friends
Here we have a 1980 Valiant Volare.
In Mexico after the 1969 model year the name Plymouth was dropped in favor of Valiant for the name of the make.
Under the hood is a 225 slant 6 mated to a floor shifted automatic transmission.
This car comes with its original invoice as its ownership document showing it is a 3 owner car.
It needs a few details. The front side marker lights seem to be a bit faded. There are reproduction pieces available.
There is a chin spoiler under the front bumper to stabilize the car at high speeds. Yes that was a joke.
There is an R/T sticker on the side but this is not an R/T, obviously.
There is also a 225 call out sticker on the quarter panel. Both of these can be removed easily.
You can see a spoiler on the rear. That is not the factory spoiler as the original spoiler did not have the design this one has, but it does look good.
The front seats are a bit faded. This is the problem with red interior, it tends to face in the sun.
While there are controls for the air conditioning on the dash the car does not have a compressor.
If it really was a factory air car it can be made to work again with a bit of money.
We all remember these cars rusting at the dealership. That was not the case with this car.
These are one of the more affordable Mopars on the market.
If you have any questions about this car or the importation process please let me know.
