1981 Mexican Spec Valiant Volare Coupe - 60729P
Hello friends
Here we have a 1981 Mexican Spec Valiant Volare Coupe.
Essentially this is a Dodge Diplomat at the rear and a a Plymouth Volare at the front.
Did you know the body lines were the same on the M-Body and the F-Body?
Under the hood is a 2 barrel 225 slant 6, more commonly known as the Super Six.
You have to shift this one yourself with the 3 on the tree transmission.
The brown paint is in really good condition.
This is a well taken car of car.
It has traveled 123,015 KM (76,437 Miles) in the past 45 years. That is 1,698 miles per year.
The car is riding on its original steel wheels with its original wheel covers, although they have been painted brown.
I might find a set of original wheel covers without the paint, for a little shine, to match the trim.
The car has a factory heater that is still hooked up which means it does not need a heater core.
It does not have power steering nor does it have power brakes.
I sold one of these a year ago and drove it across Mexico. Even without the power steering and brakes it was a really nice driving car.
The front seat is covered in beige vinyl with brown cloth inserts. The rear seat matches the front as do the door panels.
A newer stereo has been installed in the dash.
A set of newer white walls are on the car. They look really good here.
A note about the name of this car. In 1970 Mexico retired the Plymouth name and made Valiant the make of the car.
Notice, it says Valiant on the grille and Volare on the fenders.
They say you should buy the best example of a car you want. This is the best example of one of these I have ever seen.
Needless to say there is no rust on this car.
