Around my work, rumors of someone owning a rare Volare' with 4 speed existed. I finally found the owner today.

This is what I found out:

Original low option car- manual brake / manual steering

AC and Ac controls were added from a donor . V twin compressor type R12

7 1/4 rear slant 6 car 1bbl

It is a 4 DOOR.... so it was driven as a daily up to a few years ago - less than 10 but more than 5.

I have not seen the car, but other coworkers have.

It is sitting in the owner's mother's yard so it may be turning to dust.

So here is the Plan:

Buy it and either drive it home or trailer it.

If owner won't go for that since he is attached to the slant6,

I want the floor, trans, pedals, bumpers and grille.

OH and the manual brake plate for the firewall. As well the manual steering box for my Volare.

I plan the copy the firewall manual brake plate at a local metal shop and make a few copies. Similar I want to figure out the floor for copying to make a 6 speed fit.

The car has around 300 K and owner thinks it is a 76. I think he is not correct, but I'll see in about 3 weeks.

I'll get pics and post. Anyone have any wants and needs. Obviously, I don't need the grille but will need a respectable offer for it since the guy is not giving me the car. I am buying it. So let me know

Sounds like one I found up here a few years ago.
Before I got the 2 door Volare I looked at a weirdo 4 door.
Manual brakes. Manual steering. 4 speed. Very strange and very cool.

No idea.
Never pursued it after that.
The most bare bones F body I've ever seen.
Come to think of it now I'm pretty sure it was an Aspen.

Cool! I don't need anything off the car, but I'd probably be interested in one of those manual brake plates when you make them.
