Can powder coating be removed with rubbing compound?
How bad were they? (hence the choice of coating and not polishing them out)

No. Powder coating is baked on. It is extremely durable - getting it off would require sand blasting, and even then, it's going to be quite the job. Regarding your question about "how bad were they?: I originally wanted them polished, but Chicago Wheel deemed that too difficult on this wheel. I don't know why. I just wanted them "fixed up," and planned on keeping them for my next RWD Mopar. I've been carrying them around for 4 years, and another older car has yet to materialize, so I've decided to sell them. The powder coating cost $400, so I hope to recoup at least that. The auction is no-reserve, and I'll honor the winning bid. Cheers!

I don't know who Chicago Wheel is, or how they came to the determination that that it was "too difficult", but polishing out these wheels can actually be done at home. There are quite a few members here who have done exactly that, and I have documented one way of doing that.

I wouldn't even attempt to try to get the powder coating off, seems that anything that took the powder coating off would damage the aluminum, but I am no expert, and just a home user.

Cordoba1, if your set does not sell, let me know.
I would get this set, now - but it closes before I have cash to blow.

I will! I don't have "auto relist" set. If you like, you're welcome to bid and pay at your convenience. Otherwise, I will let you know. There are no bids yet, but I suspect there will be that last-minute hockey-stick bidding like there always is. It appears I set my buy-it-now WAY too high, but I'm frequently surprised by the last minute action. As much as I hate waiting for 10 days to pass, the 10 day option is a great way for eyeballs to see your items, stew about them; and then bid at the last minute. I think my starting price is pretty fair. I guess the market will let me know.

I'll check it out, once home - but I spend about 0.000001% of my time on Facebook (or maybe a significantly lot less, than that).

Ahhhh. Those caps are for the different 10 spoke alloys they had on the Miradas and some Cordobas. I looked at the caps, but I dont think theyd fit.

If they are 10 spoke centers then no, they're a bit bigger diameter than what we would use. Hard for me to tell by the picture.

I like those rims that color, I wish I had a use for them.

I had these in my desk for maybe 15 years and they are exactly 2.0 inches in diameter, they were not what I thought they were when I bought them. But if any of you fellas can use them and they will fit your centers, measure yours I can toss them in a envelope vs toss them one day.

Sorry to detract from the op-s listing.

Just the two of them? I may end up taking you up on that sometime.
