i have a 1972 model 318 engine. stone stock, removed from a 37,XXX mile dodge 1-ton maxi-van. turns over easily by hand. ran great when pulled. everything is here except air cleaner, wp pulley and fan. been kept inside poll barn storage for 5 years. look at the pics, ask questions. $250

This engine would have a forged crank in it and HD connecting rods. This engine was made to run at wide open throttle all day long (which isn’t saying much for a 318 2-bbl). The cylinder heads will interchange but are not the same heads (different style spark plugs) as a normal 318.
It is what is referred to as a 318-3 Industrial engine.
I have a ’79 360 4-bbl engine which came from a Motor Home and it is an 360-3 Industrial engine and it uses some of the same really odd parts like cylinder heads.

Reseal the engine, including valve seals and give it a new layer of paint and engine will last a long time for someone. Will need to replace the timing cover/water pump to get this engine to fit into a car.

The timing cover, water pump and carburetor (lack of a divorced choke) is what told me it was an 318-3 engine. The small blocks and big blocks that have the high mounted water pumps are the industrial engines.

I will agree, the casting mold marks that have the “-1, -2, etc.” get a lot of people confused with the 318-3, 383-3 (and so forth) engines.

Do we know for sure this is a sold engine?
