Thanks for posting this Aspen 500. I emailed the seller to ask if the chrome locking bead came with it, and unfortunately, "no". If it had, I would have already bought it. Oh well. Does anyone know where to get the "chrome" locking bead that goes in this rear hatch weather strip piece? I'd like to get a nice NOS one for OY. Thanks.

That's a good question. It's not actually something that I need, but more something that I want. The one on OY is worn and not very "chrome" anymore, but still weather proof. I suppose I could ask at an auto glass shop and see what they would use.

There are aftermarket supplyer for that type of part that the glass co use.

That's what I was wondering. Are there only a couple types that every company used or were they more vehicle specific. My thinking is, it would be more of a universal kind of product (?)

I think some of those locking strips are universal. I typed “Mopar Chrome window locking strip” into google and got lots of possibilities.

The thing is if you ever have to have the real glass removed or replaced you need this part. More than likely the one in your car is probably so hard and brittle it can't be reused.

For some reason I kept thinking the t-gate glass was operational, not fixed. Another piece of data in the f-body knowledge.
