you'd have to change the hood, header, grille, and bumper to put the 76-79 fenders on a 80...basically the same thing I did to the stinkin lincoln

'80 Aspolare fenders are just M-body fenders without marker-lamp holes. It's an M-body hood, too.

Hmmm... maybe I'm getting confused by the front-clip swaps. The raised portion does appear wider on the Fs. I know the fenders are the same, though, other than the marker-lamp holes.

I'd say you're 100% on the M interchange for the fenders.
They look the same.
But yes the hood has a front lip on the 80 Aspolare (love the name)
And the M does not...

76-79 front clip is a direct swap to a 80
and the 80 fenders are the same as Ms, dips/gran furys as they don't have marker holes/vent holes like 5th aves

So you could use this fender on an 80 but you'd have to swap the clip as well
In other words....make it an 80?......in the front anyway...

you can bolt any F/M clip on any F/M car
you can put the 5th ave front clip on the volare and vise versa if you really wanted to

no altering needed, bolt right on
just like you can cut out a F 4spd hump and weld it right in an M
an M and F are the exact same from the back of the front seats to the radiator support, regardless of sedan/coupe/wagon

You don't need to alter the fenders. They bolt on and match the body lines of the doors. No mods necessary. F/M sedan/wagon front doors are the same from 1976-89, rears are the same '76-'79, and coupes used the same doors throughout production. Other than trim differences and rooflines, they're pretty-much the same damned car.
