Hey folks
Anyone have a source for the bracket that connects between the exhaust, a little ways back from the cat, to the transmission crossmember/mount?

Note: J,E,T is R-Body. You are looking for F,G (M-body). X,S is J-body, which most might be the same.
Also 22 means 2-door, 41 is 4-door and 45 is station wagon.
Lastly (S/C) is Sales Code (in this case, emissions level) which will be on the fender tag.

Thanks Bud.

So the correct bracket DOES look like the one on ebay...

I guess someone must have fabricated the one thats on our dippy and maybe even moved the routing of the exhaust then, because aint no way that one is working under our car....

More confused now....LOL

Well....I went under there today and was looking at it.....

My bright idea was to remove it and fashion a plate to bridge the old one and reinstall....

WRONG.

The first bolt I tried..one of the two holding the counterweight to the trans tailpiece.

CRAP

So for now I just made a plate and stuck it between the pipe and the old plate, added some shock absorber washers on the other side , used a new heavy duty u exhaust clamp and slapped it back together.

I wanted to weld it to the stock piece but I am working on the ground and there just isnt enough clearance for me to wel under there....plus I risk burning a hole thru the exhaust pipe.

Damn.

Not sure which way to go now.

Car doesnt see much use now since the son left home and abandoned the car....inspection is due in december so this should hold for that. It isnt RIGHT but it will hold for now.
