Any chance you have pics of the tank work you did? :downtown:

The only one I have is the one I posted. What would you like to see in particular? I have the car on a lift right now so I can take a upskirt picture of anything you want...

Thanks for the gas tank info. I know that wasn't the purpose of this thread necessarily, but since you're doing such a great job, thought it might be a good place to help others too... like me, since I'm about to do this! :) . I wouldn't mind a shot from underneath once it's installed, if it's not too late and too much trouble. A close up of how you crimped or smacked in the edge to allow for strap fitment would be great too.

BTW, if you don't mind my asking, where are you located? Are you in Ohio?

Thanks and it's no problem at all. I'm waiting for the pics to download right now. For the edge's, I just crimped them over with a set of pliers and then smacked them with a ball peen hammer. I'm in middle TN.

If you're asking me....I'd like to see as many pics as you want to document.
Like I said before....I've already watched this car.
I really appreciate the trouble you went though to make it look stock.
I'd love to see that car in person.....one day I'll have to do a road trip. :eusa_clap:

I'll bring the beer......and the Caravelle...

Well my camera that connected and worked fine for years on this computer no longer works...what the hell? It says the driver or something is screwed up. I put the original CD in and re-installed everything...still not working. How the hell can it work fine for years, I don't touch anything, and all the sudden it's screwed up? I'll have to load the pics tomorrow or something.

Go to the camera vendor's website, and see if they have newer drivers. Stuff can break when Windows does its updates, and sometimes you need to get new drivers. And, as any Windows user knows, Windows is ALWAYS updating.

It's a SOB to get to a couple of the bolts. I'd rather cut the inside of the cowl to get to them. It wasn't too bad to mask it off and paint it on the car. I hope it never goes out though...

Oh yesssss.....the beloved brake booster r&r. It's just 5 nuts to remove? right? Riiigghhhtt.

Thanks. I wanted to go with the Super Turbo's, but I have them on a couple other cars and wanted to try something different, hoping it would be quieter. I forgot that the Super Turbo's I have aren't the same. One set is the longer 17748 case...some people call them the "Hemi Turbo's" because they sound very much like the original HP mufflers from RB/Hemi cars. That's the sound I was trying to get but I'll settle for loud for now...

Here's pretty much what all I had to do to shift the tank over:

Fold over the edges where the straps go...you can see to the side of the strap where it originally was seated:

With that you should have enough room to pull the strap around and bolt it in. It's tight on the driver's side since it goes around a bulky area of the tank but it will go. The bolt doesn't seat flush into the clip but it's tight enough.

You need to cut and lengthen the filler neck with 2" gas hose. I also popped in a new grommet:

The tank shifted over makes room for dual exhaust but even with 2.5" tubing it's tight on both sides.

Here's most of the parts to rebuild the front end. I'm waiting to put the ball joints in before I paint the control arms. Some of the parts I just sprayed with a satin or gloss clear over a clean "natural" surface...like the pitman and idler along with the sway bar brackets.

And I masked everything off and sprayed the bottom of the K frame to match the top. I'm ass-u-me-ing it's painted sort of a gloss black like the old Mopars.

Work has kept me pretty busy but I have the front end almost completely together.

Everything I could clean and repaint I did, including the bumper shocks or whatever those things are called.

I repainted the inner fenders, The messy black overspray was like that and I tried my best to redo the factory look everywhere it originally was...so it wasn't just me being lazy and sloppy:

I have the tie rods mocked up for the time being. I had to ding over the exhaust pipe a little for the fast ratio idler to clear. Pitman looks like it will be fine. Not sure why my oil pan looks streaky in this picture, it must be a reflection of something:

This is where I got to before I was ready for the torsion bars:

More updates as I make further sloooooow progress.
