I know, not an FMJ (sorry) but as the title says, trying to locate the left wiper pivot for my 1996 Dakota. Have been looking a couple years and zip. If anyone in low rust country is out at the salvage yard and spots one, let me know. '92-'96 are the same. If the wiper arm is good also, all the better. Thanks!

No old stuff in JY around me. New seems to be discontinued and none around. Good used is you only hope so it seems.

Yeah, the part was discontinued in the mid 2000's, close as I can tell. Used seems to be unobtanium also, so far. There hasn't been a '96 or older Dakota (or any other make and model) in the yards for at least 15 years. I guess the cobble is still working so........Problem is the splines are stripped.

How hard is it to get one of these off a truck? I'm not familiar with how they're assembled. There's a yard by me with a 96. It's been there since June so it's probably gonna get scrapped soon if it hasn't been picked over

I don't think they're bad. A few phillips screws for the cowl panel, unsnap the plastic grille under it, and a couple bolts on the pivot.

Yard opens at 9. I'll go check it out. Might already be picked over

For some reason it doesn't look right, could be just a senior moment though, lol. It's been a couple years since I had the ciwl pabel off. Are they sure it's a '96? At any rate, do you think you could grab it for me?

The pic is after I pulled it out. I sent you a PM. The door jamb label said 96. There was a 98 there that had a completely different set up. This one had three 10mm screws holding it in on each pivot. The 98 was held in by nuts. I can post more pics in a few mins

I think the windshield reflection was messing with my mind. That does look like them. A local yard did have a '94, what was left if it, a couple years ago but the pivot had the exact same problem as mine, splines stripped.

PM sent.
