Having a '76, the underside of my wagon is all kinds of wrong for the only replacement gas tank available ('77 onward). I'm basically gonna have to relocate / retrofit strap mounts in the '77+ location, but for whatever reason, I can't find replacement BRACKETS for anything! Straps are everywhere, but no replacement metal to mount them to. I assumed there would be some kind of universal aftermarket kit somewhere, but if so, Google has failed me repeatedly. Does anyone have any advice on where to go to find such a thing? I might be able to cut off and save the originals, but I'd like a Plan B.
Thanks!

They don't exist on the aftermarket for FMJ bodies. You can find trunk floor braces for A B C and E bodies. You might be able to find a trunk floor brace for
something else that would be close enough

What's the goal? A restoration or just get it running?

The right size piece of square tube to make up the difference in the floor pan, a homemade strap, two bolts, a few washers and lock nuts on one side would get you fixed up.

Not so much universal but there’s things out there you maybe able to work with.

IMO You basically really need the later trunk floor to do it. Just later straps and brackets won`t cut it since the 76 floor has a completely different shape. You could locate a used trunk floor and drill out the spot welds and replace the whole trunk area. Anything other than that may look kinda hokey and be more work than replacing the floor itself.
