Bill is the name, 55 is the age I started posting on car forums, about to turn 65, lived in AZ from 1985 til 3 years ago. Now we split our year between AZ and Utah, north in the summers, of course. We have grandkids in both places, so we have 2 houses. Our Utah house has a big shop. There is an 89 dakota there getting a 5.9L v8 conversion. I have an 80 diplomat coupe with under 86K miles that I keep in AZ. It doesn't need much, just bigger front brakes and a rear sway bar is about all I will do to it.
Got diagnosed with Parkinson's disease a few years ago, really impacts the finer work. My hands do what they want at times, and don't do what I want other times. So it takes me longer to do things. I have to retype a lot....I can spell, but my fingers can't.:laughing7:
Anybody else in AZ or UT?

Nice ride.

I'm an AZ guy down in Tucson. Welcome aboard.

Dan...

Sweet Dip!

Tell us more. Survivor, restored, powertrain, things like that. Inquiring minds want to know.

Survivor, 86K miles, repainted, slant 6, 1bbl, 2.7 ratio, 7.25 axle, well cared for by original owner.
Today it goes into the muffler shop to get the tailpipe moved so the new sway bar will fit properly. To add later, I have on hand subframe connectors, an 8.25 axle with SG and 3.2 ratio and bigger rear brakes, caliper adapters and bigger brake rotors from a late B car, dakota spring leafs to beef up the rear, cop car HD rear shackles, HD rear shackle mounting plate, poly cushions for the rear isomount box, mini starter from a magnum engine.
That is about all I plan on doing....

My wife even likes it.....she didn't care much for the 79 volare wagon with 4BBL 318, 2.9 suregrip axle, low gear set 999 from a dakota, big sway bars, fat tires, etc. Said it scared her...
Wish I had kept that wagon...

Don't worry Bill put a wifey in a 440 Dart with a reverse manual valve body and try to keep your sanity..I tried her in the 4 speed Aspen first until she stalled it out while coming out of a u-turn in the sub-division:BangHead:

Utahn here, bout 25 minutes south of salt lake. Where in Utah do you spend the summers Bill?

Back To The Future

Well alright! Bill, I'm sure glad you found us. I kinda missed those lively exchanges, where I'd leave a little smarter than when arrived.:icon_study:

have we met before in another world?
bear in mind that I have a terrible long term memory and it is getting worse.
I quit taking one of my meds that was affecting my short term memory.

gotta have SOME memory working....

Nice Diplomate Bill, post some pics in the M body thread, theres only two cars in it so far and a bad boy likes yours definately would add some class.

gotta have SOME memory working....

I seem to remember us on The Old Hippie board and either the old Dippy board (Farley's) and/or the other F board.

They say the second thing to fail is our memory and I'll be dammed if I can remember what the first thing was.......

Anyway, I'm still glad you found us.......:sunny:
