This is my very first post so if it's not in the right spot I apologize and I'm a brand new member. this site was recommended to me by a good friend of my brothers and said this is a great resource for guys just learning how to turn a wrench and that this is very helpful place. that being said I just started to work on and rebuild this 83 Dodge Mirada cmx.So here it goes, does anybody have any idea what wires off the original harness for the blinker switch go to what corresponding blinker? If that even makes sense? My blinker switch lever with completely broken off and hanging and I picked up a universal blinker switch. It tells me what all the wires are and for what blinkers the wire goes to but I have no idea what the corresponding wire goes to on the other end. Do you know what I mean? I just need to know what wires coming out of this harness go to what blinker? Sorry I don't have a better way to explain this I'm not that smart.

Light green is the passenger side,Tan is the driver side, I would get a factory switch and put it in and avoid the hassle, 2 speed or 3 speed wipers?

I'm not going to have wipers. I thought the wiring for the wipers was in a separate plug? So that means I only have to deal with the green and the tan wires? Awesome! Thank you big time

Well now that I'm looking at my wiring I only see one green and 1 tan wire. That can't be just for the left and the right blinkers for the front and the rear? What do I do with the other six wires?

Looks like there's more then just turn signals in that plug. If you really want to use the aftermarket turn signal switch pretty nuch the only way to do it is to cut the wires out of it that go to the lights and leave everything else alone.
But you'll probably have to figure out how to get the stop lights and flashers working since they go to the same bulbs.

I changed out a turn signal switch in a late 70s Diplomat with the old style column w/o the beam changer, non-tilt. The screw backed out after a short while of use causing the TS lever to flop, as it was before my switch replacement. This time I took a closer look finding stripped threads on the screw. I found the right screw at my local hardware store and used lock tite threadlocker as the repair manual indicates. It's stayed tight for years.

At least 79 has different switchplates for tilt and non-tilt.
Although wiring diagram is kind of.the same, they work different (e.g. hazzard switch)

A 1978 Diplomat/LeBaron electrical manual is likely to be different from 1983, but for what it's worth, the -
LF & RF parking lamps = Y/Bk*
LF turn signal = LGR
RF turn signal = T
LR & RR parking/tail lamps = BK
LR turn signal = DGN
RR turn signal = BR
LR & RR brake = W

I don't know if that is what you're working with.

Chrysler made the non-tilt columns and bought tilt columns from Saginaw Steering since the mid 1960s thru IDK... 90s sometime maybe. Saginaw was tied to GM, they are in most every way a GM steering column. The switches operate the same, their smooth bearing feel too. I would have checked that option box.

Thanks for sharing on the forum.

I suspect some day, someone with a screw loose will read my loose screw story to get some direction in life, yes.

I have one of those stalk-mounted-everything M bodies. It broke the beam changer and needs to be changed someday. I think there's a tab that breaks, not sure if that's repairable or replacement only. I'm curious what happened to this Mirada, what exactly they pulled out... you'd have to remove the steering wheel to do much damage there. I flipped on my intermittent wipers on so many times signaling at a stop light that I can see how one would take their clenched fist and hammer down on the stupid thing that won't even flash to high beam anymore.... aside from that it's pretty hard to do much damage there.
